FAPAC National Leadership Training Program

FAPAC’s first National Leadership Training Conference was held in Washington, DC during Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in 1985 and attracted over 120 participants from across the U.S.  The week long event now draws between 400 to 600 attendees and has been held in San Francisco, Honolulu, New York, Seattle, Atlanta, Houston, and other major metropolitan cities.  The annual training program is a premier training destination for federal employees including DC government and military. The training activity is in accordance with 5.U.S.C chapter 41 and 5 CFR 410.404 and approved by Office of Personnel Management.   

The 2014 FAPAC training program includes: General Sessions, Student/Veterans Sessions, DoD Forum and a Career Fair.

The general sessions are open to all attendees and are fee required. The students / veterans sessions are only open to students and veterans and are fee FREE.  Valid identification is required for all attendees upon check in.

General sessions include:

Students sessions include:

  • Working for the Federal Government - Introduction to life in the public sector

  • Improving your Business Writing Skills
  • Pathways Programs and Internships
The student program runs from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. each day from May 6-8.

Veterans sessions include:
  • Veterans Affairs Healthcare and VA for Vets
  • Veterans Affairs Benefits and Compensation

 

DoD Forum include:

  • DoD Diversity and Inclusion Policy and Development on AAPI related topics

 

Career Fair and Exhibitors include:

USDA, DOJ, DHS, VA, NASA, GEICO, LongTerm Care, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, IC community, and more.
