STRIVING FOR EXCELLENCE IN LEADERSHIP, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
Theme for APA Heritage Month 2012
WASHINGTON DC - FAPAC announced the theme for the 2012 Asian American Heritage Month - “Striving for Excellence in Leadership, Diversity and Inclusion”. The theme was chosen to focus on the Executive Order on Diversity and Inclusion signed by President Obama on August 18, 2011. Dr. Kin Wong, President of FAPAC, also announced that FAPAC has established an Ad Hoc Committee on Diversity and Inclusion under its Chair Selina Lee to work with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) in its effort to implement the Executive Order. FAPAC will work with its partners, under the National Coalition for Equity in Public Service (NCEPS), in supporting the effort. FAPAC is organized exclusively for educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. FAPAC is a non-profit, non-partisan organization representing the interests of over 155,000 civilian and military APA employees in the Federal and District of Columbia governments of all ranks, including GS and SES employees. FAPAC carried out its mission through the Annual National Leadership Training Conference, held during the month of May each year, and through other training by its chapters.
